Two New Poems
My local poetry group met last night for this month. Here are two new poems I wrote.
Amidst Shadows
The morning light, sacred in its purpose, writes a poem amidst shadows, calling eyes awake and answers the spirits' ache. What sense sends discovery out into the tomorrows like a heron wading guiltless into water, ripples imitating forgiveness. A peace pipe passed, looking toward the Creator, no pity asked for or sent.
The Gypsy
A guitar master honored the world over,
turns six strings into fireworks.
Notes waft on a breeze gentle,
the jetstream hears and willingly
carries the sound unmistakable.
When you hear Django, it’s always summer,
boaters tilted gaily askew,
drinks in constant tipple,
the gypsy inside you returns.
The black and white photo
floods with color.
